Science/Kosin
I started a lesson with a question for their C.S.I. journal "What do you think will happen when dropping a popcorn seed and marble in a mixture of flour covered with hot chocolate?" I had the students turn and talk to their partners to discuss and explain their thinking. I then had the students actually do the activity and then revisit their journal question. If there was anything that turned out different then what they thought would happen I wanted to them to reexplain what the reasoning was behind it. This all related to Newton's 2nd Law. Turned out much better than I anticipated.
